Er:YAG laser
Erbium lasers fall within the infrared light spectrum and include two types: Er,Cr:YSGG (Erbium, chromium-doped yttrium, scandium, gallium, and garnet) with a wavelength of 2780 nm, and Er:YAG (erbium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet laser) with a wavelength of 2940 nm. These lasers are solid-state lasers. Erbium lasers are well absorbed by water and hydroxyapatite, making them suitable not only for soft tissue but also for bone and hard tissue removal.
Nd:YAG laser
The Nd-YAG laser is used for soft tissue treatments because it is well absorbed by pigmented tissue. It can penetrate much deeper than the CO2 laser. This type of laser is also very effective for soft tissue cutting, providing good hemostasis and a clean, well-visualized surgical site. It is used for gingival debridement in the treatment of periodontal diseases, LANAP, and soft tissue surgical treatments. It can also be used for removing early dental caries, treating canker sores, root treatments, and more.
Diode laser
Diode lasers are semiconductor lasers, such as Gallium Arsenide (GaAs) and Gallium-Aluminum-Arsenide (GaAlAs). Their wavelengths range from visible light to infrared. Diode lasers are not absorbed by hard tissues but are well absorbed by hemoglobin and pigments, making them suitable for soft tissue removal and surgeries like frenectomy, gingivectomy, biopsy, and more. CO2 laser
A gas laser in the infrared light spectrum with wavelengths of 9300 and 10600 nanometers. This wavelength is well absorbed by water. It can easily cut soft tissue and provide good hemostasis, and in addition, it has a low penetration depth in soft tissue, which gives it an advantage in treating mucosal lesions. LED device
The LED device has a wavelength of ±630 nm. This device is used for photodynamic therapy.
Oral ID
This device is used for screening oral cancerous and precancerous lesions. It works with fluorescence under blue light (460-435 nm), and when applied to abnormal tissue, it appears dark due to the lack of fluorescence.
